Government planning to provide free Wi-Fi to students: Education Minister
The government is planning to provide free Wi-Fi facilities to students alongside teachers in educational institutions across the country, Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has said.
He made this remark as the chief guest at a meeting organised in the capital on Monday, March 9, aimed at implementing various initiatives related to education and human resource development.
He further said the government is working to move education beyond the confines of rote learning and build an education system based on creativity, analytical thinking and practical skills.
He also mentioned initiatives to strengthen teacher training, expand technology-based education, establish multimedia classrooms, and implement the 'One Teacher, One Tab' programme to improve the quality of education.
The minister also shared various other plans, including introducing third language education from the secondary level to develop students' skills, making technical education compulsory alongside general education, and engaging students in sports, culture and moral education.
