Government plans to recruit 10,000 new police constables: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced a plan to recruit 10,000 new police constables to make the law enforcement forces more modern, efficient and professional. He said that the government is working to form an accountable and effective police force to ensure the security of the people.
The Prime Minister gave this information in his closing speech of the second session of the National Parliament and the first budget session on Wednesday (July 15).
The Prime Minister said that the law enforcement forces will be developed as a fully professional force to ensure the security of the people. As part of this, a plan to recruit 10,000 new police constables has been undertaken.
He also said that the government wants to build a Bangladesh where the state and government are accountable to the people, the economy is inclusive and the life of every citizen is safe, dignified and promising.
Highlighting the government's new initiatives to protect the environment and create employment, the Prime Minister said that in the next five years, a 250 million tree plantation program will be implemented through government initiatives and voluntary work.
