Government regularises jobs of 243 assistant teachers
The government has regularised the jobs of 243 assistant teachers working at government secondary schools across the country, making them eligible for salaries and allowances under government rules from their respective joining dates.
The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Education Ministry issued a notification on September 3, confirming the regularisation after the teachers fulfilled the requirements under the Secondary and Higher Education Directorate (Employees) Recruitment Rules, 2021.
According to the notification, the teachers will receive their salaries and allowances from their original dates of joining in accordance with applicable government rules. They will also be entitled to outstanding salaries, allowances and other eligible dues accrued during their service.
The list attached to the notification shows that some of the teachers joined government secondary schools as assistant teachers in 2017, while others joined in 2018 or later. Their positions have now been regularised several years after they entered government service.
