Government to provide all support for film industry growth: Dr Zahed
Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman has said the government will provide all necessary support to make the country's film industry more prosperous, commercially viable and competitive internationally.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after the closing ceremony and certificate distribution of a documentary-making course organised by the Bangladesh Film and Television Institute (BFCTI) in Mirpur, capital, on Saturday, June 27.
Dr Zahed Ur Rahman said the government is sincere in encouraging the creative initiatives of the country's filmmakers. Policy and other support will continue to make the film industry stronger, sustainable and internationally competitive.
He also said the government is working seriously on the construction of a permanent campus for the Bangladesh Film and Television Institute.
On international cooperation, he said both Malaysia and China are interested in working jointly with Bangladesh. However, such cooperation will be pursued while prioritising the national interest above all.
BFCTI officials, trainers and trainees were present at the event, where certificates were distributed to those who successfully completed the documentary-making course.
