Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said the government is striving to take Bangladesh “to a better place,” stressing that the country’s desired future can be achieved if everyone performs their responsibilities properly from their respective positions.

He made the remarks while attending an Eid-ul-Azha luncheon organised by “Mrityunjoyi 25” at Zia Colony inside Dhaka Cantonment today (May 28).

Recalling memories from his childhood and earlier life spent in the cantonment area, the Prime Minister said a significant part of his life remains deeply connected with the place.

“If everyone carries out their duties sincerely and responsibly, it will gradually become possible to build the Bangladesh we aspire to,” Tarique Rahman said during his address.

Following the luncheon, the Prime Minister exchanged Eid greetings with army personnel present at the programme and later visited the soldiers’ mess to inquire about their living conditions and overall well-being.

As part of the visit, he planted a neem sapling within the premises of the army mess and signed the inspection book.

After offering Zohr prayers at the mess mosque, the Prime Minister once again exchanged Eid greetings with army officers and members of the armed forces.
