Govt aims to advance nation through education and science-technology: PM

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed his determination to take the country forward by prioritizing education and science and technology. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that the current government will work to take the country forward through education and science and technology. He also commented that politicizing art and culture cannot be the identity of a civilized country.

He said these things at the Ekushey Padak award ceremony organized at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital around 12:15pm on Thursday.

At the ceremony, the Prime Minister presented the state's highest civilian honor 'Ekushey Padak 2026' to the distinguished people in recognition of their important contributions to various fields of the country.

This time, Farida Akhtar Babita and Professor of Fine Arts Md. Abdus Sattar received the award in film, Marina Tabashyum in architecture, Ayub Bachchu in music (posthumously), Islam Uddin Palakar in drama, Shafiq Rehman in journalism, Professor Mahbubul Alam Majumder in education, Tejosh Halder Josh in sculpture and Arthy Ahmed in dance. In addition, Warfaze was awarded this award as a musical group.
