Govt directive to keep three books in primary school libraries withdrawn
The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has withdrawn its directive requiring all government primary schools to keep three specific books in their libraries.
When contacted, Directorate of Primary Education Director General Shahina Ferdousi told the media on Monday evening, July 6, that the ministry had withdrawn the directive today.
It is learnt that last month, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education had sent a directive to the Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education titled "Preservation of 1 set of books (comprising three books) for reading in the library of every government primary school." The directive requested necessary measures to preserve one set of these three books in school libraries.
