The BNP-led government is set to hold a special review meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka on Monday (August 17) to mark 180 days since it assumed office, with the government’s performance over the past six months and its priorities for the coming days expected to take centre stage.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11am at the Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon.
The meeting has been organised by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing and will bring together senior government officials and representatives from various ministries.
The meeting is expected to assess the implementation of key government initiatives, review progress made across different sectors and discuss areas requiring greater attention in the coming months.
Political Adviser and Agriculture Adviser Nazrul Islam Khan, Political Adviser and Industries Adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, and Public Administration Adviser Ismail Zubaiullah are scheduled to attend the meeting. Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon and State Minister Yasser Khan Chowdhury are also expected to be present.
Among other participants will be Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson and adviser Mahdi Amin, Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr Zahid Ur Rahman, the prime minister’s special assistant for health affairs Dr SM Ziauddin Haider, and Prime Minister’s Press Secretary and PMO spokesperson Saleh Shibli.
Chief Coordinator of the Prime Minister’s Office Prof Dr SM Abdul Awal, Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon and other officials from the Press Wing are also scheduled to attend.
The meeting comes as various ministries and government agencies have begun reviewing their activities ahead of the government’s 180-day milestone. The Directorate General of Health Services, for instance, issued several directives to health facilities ahead of August 17, including measures related to cleanliness and biometric attendance.
The review is expected to provide an assessment of the government’s progress during its first six months while outlining key priorities and an action plan for the next phase of its tenure.
