Govt officials instructed to ensure timely office attendance

The Cabinet Division has issued directives to ensure timely attendance and departure of officers and employees in government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions.

The directive was given through letters sent to senior secretaries of all ministries and divisions, divisional commissioners and district commissioners on Tuesday, February 24.

It stated that according to the Government Employees (Regular Attendance) Rules, 2019 and Directive No 86 of the Secretariat Instructions, 2024, all officers/employees of government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions are obligated to attend and depart office according to scheduled time.

The letter requested necessary measures in this regard and to instruct subordinate offices/agencies accordingly.

It also mentioned that field-level officers must obtain permission from respective authorities before leaving their workplaces during weekly or other holidays.
