Govt to provide free school uniforms for primary schools: PM
The government has a plan to distribute free school uniforms to 200,000 students of government primary schools within the current fiscal year, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said.
He gave this information during the question and answer session on the sixth day of the first session of the 13th National Parliament on Wednesday (April 1).
In response to a question from Sylhet-2 MP Tahsina Rushdir, the Prime Minister outlined the development plans for various sectors.
He said that various action plans have been taken for the development of the education sector for the next 180 days, the next fiscal year and the next five years.
The Prime Minister also said that as part of technical and language skill development, 9,000 teachers of technical educational institutions will be provided with tabs within the next 180 days.
In addition, initiatives have been taken to set up 3,832 multimedia classrooms and teach Italian and Japanese to 172 students.
He also announced plans to introduce free Wi-Fi services in 418 technical and madrasa educational institutions by June 2026.
