Govt to refund Tk 4.87cr to Hajj pilgrims

The government will refund Tk 4.87 crore in unspent funds to 4,341 pilgrims who performed Hajj under the government-managed programme this year.

Religious Affairs Minister Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad announced the decision at a press conference at the Secretariat on Sunday (September 6).

The refund covers unused funds allocated for the Saudi Arabia leg of the pilgrimage, officials said.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammad Shamim Kaisar was also present at the briefing, which was held to outline the process of returning the unutilised funds to the pilgrims.
