Hadi's family to receive Tk 20cr: Finance Adviser
The family of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, the Inqilab Mancha spokesperson who was shot dead in Paltan, will receive a total of Tk 2 crore in government assistance, Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed announced on Wednesday (January 21).
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the Government Procurement Advisory Committee at the Secretariat, he said Tk 1 crore will be provided as a special grant to purchase a flat in Dhaka, while an additional Tk 10 crore will be given separately from the Prime Adviser’s office to support the family’s daily living expenses.
The flat, measuring 1,215 sq ft in the government residential building ‘Doel Tower’ in Lalmatiya, will be used by Hadi’s wife and children. The approval for the government grant was given by the Finance Division on Tuesday.
Sharif Osman bin Hadi was critically injured in a shooting incident by unidentified assailants in Paltan on December 13, 2025, a day after the announcement of the schedule for the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections. He later succumbed to his injuries on December 18 while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital.
