Hajj 2027 preliminary registration begins July 27, fee set at Tk3.5 lakh

The government will begin preliminary registration for Hajj 2027 on July 27, with aspiring pilgrims required to complete the process by September 24. The initial registration fee has been fixed at Tk 3,50,000 for both government and private management schemes.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, individuals who have already completed pre-registration may pay the full amount under their selected Hajj package and complete final registration immediately. Others will have until December 10 to pay the remaining amount and finalize their registration.

Under the government scheme, applicants can register through the e-Hajj system, Union Digital Centres, Islamic Foundation divisional and district offices, Model Mosques, Baitul Mukarram office, Ashkona Hajj Office, or any authorized Hajj agency.

This year, the government has announced two Hajj packages—Hajj Package-1 and the Economy Hajj Package-2. Private operators will offer one standard package along with up to three additional packages, which will be available on the official Hajj portal.

To complete preliminary registration, applicants must possess a valid pre-registration certificate and a passport valid until December 31 of next year. Pilgrims will also be required to select their preferred Hajj package, training and vaccination district, and Hajj category during registration.

Applicants under the government scheme must deposit Tk 3,50,000 into the designated Sonali Bank account, while those applying through private agencies must deposit the same amount into the respective agency's authorized bank account.

The ministry said only physically and mentally fit individuals aged 15 years or above will be eligible to perform Hajj. People suffering from severe heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental disorders, dementia, active cancer under treatment, tuberculosis, hemorrhagic fever and other contagious diseases will not be permitted to travel. Women in the final two months of pregnancy or with high-risk pregnancies will also be ineligible for a fitness certificate.

Following registration, pilgrims must undergo medical examinations at government hospitals or designated private diagnostic centres, receive mandatory vaccinations and obtain a fitness certificate from the Civil Surgeon or an authorized physician.

The ministry also reminded prospective pilgrims that pre-registration requires an advance payment of Tk 30,000. For Hajj-related information, applicants may contact the government's hotline at 16136.
