Hajj flights begin as PM inaugurates operations in Dhaka
Hajj flights for this year have officially commenced, with the first flight departing Dhaka for Jeddah carrying 419 pilgrims around 12:20am last night (April 17).
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurating the operations arournd 11:30pm at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The inauguration ceremony took place following the Prime Minister’s visit to the Ashkona Hajj Camp, where he also interacted with pilgrims.
Addressing the pilgrims, he requested them to pray for the peace, prosperity and stability of the country and its people while performing Hajj.
He also urged national unity in overcoming current challenges.
Officials said the government is working to ensure improved facilities and services for Hajj pilgrims in the coming years.
