Hajj flights to begin from April 18: Religious affairs Minister

Hajj flights will begin from April 18, Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has said.

He disclosed the information during the question-answer session of the first sitting of the National Parliament on Tuesday, April 7.

MP Lutfor Rahman from Cox's Bazar-3 constituency asked whether the government has taken any initiative to reduce Hajj expenses and, if not, whether steps would be taken.

In response, the minister said the 2026 Hajj package has been finalised, with various expenses for both Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh already paid. All procedures including visas have been completed according to the Saudi timeline. Hajj flights will begin on April 18.

He further said that when formulating and announcing the Hajj 2027 package, initiatives will be taken to reduce costs based on the overall situation, convenience and needs of pilgrims.
