Hajj packages for 2027 announced, minimum cost Tk 5.05 lakh

The government has announced the Hajj packages for both government and private management for next year (2027). Two Hajj packages have been set under government management. Of these, the minimum cost for the affordable package has been fixed at Tk 5,05,648. Meanwhile, the cost for the package with better facilities has been set at Tk 6,15,263.

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaykobad) announced the 2027 Hajj packages at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday. In addition, the cost for the general Hajj package under private management has been fixed at Tk 5,13,648.

The minister said the cost of the government Hajj Package-1 is Tk 6,15,263. Pilgrims under this package will have accommodation in Mecca within 1,000 to 1,400 metres of the Haram Sharif, and in Medina's Markazia area. Tents in Mina's Zone-2 will be provided. Food will be supplied through the Moallim under Service Package-3 in Mina-Arafat. The duration of stay in Saudi Arabia will generally be 35 to 40 days. There will also be options for room upgrades and short-term packages by paying additional costs.

He said the cost of the Hajj Package-2 (affordable) has been set at Tk 5,05,648. Under this package, accommodation in Mecca will be within 2 to 3 kilometres of the Haram Sharif, and in Medina outside the Markazia area within 800 metres of the Masjid an-Nabawi. Tents will be provided in Mina's Zone-5. If hotels are located more than two kilometres away, Salawat bus services will be provided as per Saudi government regulations.

The Religious Affairs Minister said the government's election manifesto includes a commitment to affordable, accessible, humane and expatriate-friendly Hajj management. In continuation of this, under the Prime Minister's initiative, the airfare for Hajj flights this year has been reduced by Tk 24,830 to Tk 1,30,000 compared to last year.

He said that during Sheikh Hasina's government, the airfare for Hajj flights in 2023 was approximately Tk 2 lakh. In 2025, during the interim government's tenure, it was reduced to Tk 1,67,820. This year, it has been further reduced to Tk 1,30,000.

The minister further said that registered eligible Hajj agencies must form groups based on the minimum quota set by the Saudi government before registration begins. While adoption of the government-approved general Hajj package is mandatory, agencies within groups can announce three additional packages based on mutual coordination. However, no package with fewer services than the government-announced Hajj Package-2 can be declared.
