The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced October 12 as the final deadline for initial registration of pilgrims intending to perform Hajj in 2026. Officials confirmed that the deadline will not be extended further in line with Saudi government instructions. According to a press release issued Wednesday (September 10) by Md Abubakar Siddique, Public Relations Officer of the ministry, a total of 127,198 Bangladeshis—including both government and private quota pilgrims—will be allowed to perform Hajj next year. The holy Hajj is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia in the last week of May 2026, subject to the sighting of the moon.

হজের প্রাথমিক নিবন্ধন শেষ হচ্ছে আগামী ১২ অক্টোবর।। ২০২৬ সা‌লে হ‌জে যে‌তে হ‌লে এ সময়ের ম‌ধ্যেই নিবন্ধন শেষ কর‌তে হ‌বে। সৌদি সরকারের নিবন্ধনের সময়সীমা অনুযায়ী এ সময় আর বাড়ানো হবে না বলে জানিয়েছে ধর্মবিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়। বুধবার (১০ সেপ্টেম্বর) ধর্মবিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের জনসংযোগ কর্মকর্তা মো. আবুবকর সিদ্দীক স্বাক্ষরিত এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এই তথ্য জানানো হয়। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, সৌদি সরকারের সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী ২০২৬ সালের হজযাত্রীর প্রাথমিক নিবন্ধন ১২ অক্টোবর ২০২৫ পর্যন্ত চলবে। আগামী বছর বাংলাদেশ থেকে সরকারি ও বেসরকারি ব্যবস্থাপনা মিলিয়ে ১ লাখ ২৭ হাজার ১৯৮ জন হজ পালন করতে পারবেন। চাঁদ দেখা সাপেক্ষে আগামী বছরের মে মাসের শেষ সপ্তাহে সৌদি আরবে পবিত্র হজ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
