“Hasina conspiring to create chaos in Bangladesh sitting in India”

BNP standing committee member Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram, has said deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is conspiring from Indian to create chaos in Bangladesh.

"Dictator Sheikh Hasina wants to enter the (political) field with her fascist party in a new way by creating an unstable situation in the country to completely destroy the country," he told a discussion on 'The future of democracy in the current political context' at Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Thursday (February 6).

Bangladesh Swadhinata Forum organised the discussion with its president Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah in the chair.

Moderated by Swadhinata Forum vice-president Ishtiaq Ahmed Bablu, the discussion was addressed by BNP leaders Habibur Rahman Habib, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and Abdus Salam Azad, Tanti Dal's Moniruzzaman Munir, Matsyajibi Dal's Ismail Hossain Siraji, Swadhinata Forum Vice-Presidents Hafizur Rahman and AKM Rezaul Karim, among others.

Hafiz Uddin underscored the need for keeping unity among all patriotic forces of the country.

"We want to remain united. We want to build a strong unity between the student community that participated in the July-August mass uprising and political parties opposing Hasina," he said.

About vandalism of Dhanmondi-32 residence of Sheikh Mujib, Hafiz Uddin said, "Everything will be clear by today who did this incident and who is responsible for it? Once getting complete information, we will express our reaction to media and the people".

"We think that some people may try to create chaos in order to destroy democracy and create obstacle to democracy for the days to come. We will try to find out if there is interference from neighboring country in particular," he said.
