Hasina’s locker at Pubali Bank confiscated

A bank locker belonging to Sheikh Hasina has been confiscated by the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The locker, located at the Motijheel branch of Pubali Bank, was sealed by a CIC team in the morning hours, following what authorities described as "credible intelligence."

Director General of the CIC, Ahsan Habib, confirmed the development. He stated that the locker, registered under Sheikh Hasina’s name, is housed at the Sena Kalyan Bhaban branch of Pubali Bank. Of the two keys associated with the locker, one is reportedly in Sheikh Hasina’s possession.

“Based on intelligence reports, the CIC has taken action to seize the locker. Further investigation is ongoing,” Habib said.

According to NBR sources, the contents of the locker may include gold ornaments and sensitive documents. However, officials have not yet confirmed the exact nature of the contents.

The seizure is part of an ongoing inquiry and no formal charges have been made public at the time of reporting.
