The High Court has granted bail to Tamanna Jesmin Riva, president of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League's Eden Women's College unit, in a case. The High Court bench of Justice Md Atwar Rahman and Justice Md Sagir Hossain issued a rule along with her bail on Monday, April 6. Deputy Attorney General Badruzzaman Tofadar represented the state. Riva was detained by Detective Police (DB) on December 16, 2024, on charges of conducting political activities. She had gone into hiding after leaving campus during the July student movement and was not seen in public afterward. She was arrested on the night of December 16.

নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষিত সংগঠন বাংলাদেশ ছাত্রলীগের ইডেন মহিলা কলেজ শাখার সভাপতি তামান্না জেসমিন রিভাকে এক মামলায় জামিন দিয়েছেন হাইকোর্ট। সোমবার (৬ এপ্রিল) বিচারপতি মো. আতোয়ার রহমান ও বিচারপতি মো. সগীর হোসেনের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত হাইকোর্ট বেঞ্চ এ আদেশ দেন। জামিনের বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন ডেপুটি অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল বদিউজ্জামান তফাদার। মামলার নথি অনুযায়ী, জুলাই মাসের ছাত্র আন্দোলনের সময় ক্যাম্পাস ছেড়ে আত্মগোপনে চলে যান রিভা। এরপর তাকে আর প্রকাশ্যে দেখা যায়নি। পরে ২০২৪ সালের ১৬ ডিসেম্বর রাতে তাকে আটক করা হয় এবং বৈষম্যবিরোধী আন্দোলন সংক্রান্ত এক মামলায় গ্রেপ্তার দেখানো হয়। তবে কোন মামলায় তাকে জামিন দেওয়া হয়েছে, সে বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত তথ্য তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে জানা যায়নি।
