The High Court will deliver its order on Thursday, April 30, regarding the bail petition of former vice-president of Dhaka University's Shamsunnahar Hall parliament, Sheikh Tasnim Afroz Emi. She is facing charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act for playing Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historic March 7 speech.

The matter was determined by the HC bench of Justice K M Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher on Wednesday, April 29.

Earlier on March 7, Emi and several others organised the broadcast of the speech at Shahbagh intersection around 9:30 pm. While the speech was being played using a loudspeaker on a rickshaw, a group of students, including DUCSU leader A B Jubayer, Mosadddek Ali Ibn Mohammad, and Tahmid Al Modassir, convener of the NCP's student wing Jatiya Chhatra Shakti, obstructed the programme. Following an argument, Jubayer and Mosadddek allegedly forced Emi and two others to the Shahbagh police station, where police detained them. The three were arrested the next day under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
