Heatwave in 18 districts including Dhaka

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has informed that a heatwave is blowing again in various places of the country after a one-day break. According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, a heatwave is blowing in 18 districts of the country including Dhaka in the afternoon on Monday (September 21). Among these the highest temperature has been recorded in Srimangal of Moulvibazar, 37.5 degrees Celsius. However the Meteorological Department has informed that the extent of the heatwave may decrease from Tuesday.

The highest temperature of the capital has been recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius on Monday. It is considered that a heatwave is blowing if the temperature of any area reaches 36 degrees Celsius.

Among the areas outside Dhaka where the heatwave is blowing are 36.5 in Tarash of Sirajganj, 36 in Ishwardi of Pabna, 37 in Faridpur, 36.2 in Gopalganj, 36 in Nikli of Kishoreganj, 36.5 in Rajshahi, 36.4 in Mymensingh, 36 in Netrokona, 36.1 in Sylhet, 36.8 in Tangail, 37.5 in Srimangal of Moulvibazar, 37 in Khulna, 36 in Ashuganj of Brahmanbaria, 36.2 in Jashore, 37 in Chuadanga, 36.1 in Sandwip of Chittagong and 36.2 degrees Celsius in Feni.

A heatwave blew in 25 districts of the country last Tuesday. There was a heatwave in 11 districts the next day. After that the heatwave started again on Saturday after a two-day break. However the heatwave decreased as the amount of rain increased on Sunday. The heatwave started again on Monday after one day.

Meteorologist Md Bazlur Rashid said the extent of the heatwave may decrease from Tuesday.

Meanwhile a low pressure has been created in the sea. The Meteorological Department has informed that this low pressure created in the North Andaman Sea may turn into a depression or deep depression. It may go towards Odisha and Andhra Pradesh of India. Due to its influence the amount of rain may increase in the coastal areas of Bangladesh from Wednesday or Thursday.
