High Court grants bail to Ivy in two cases
The High Court has granted bail to former Narayanganj City Corporation mayor Selina Hayat Ivy in two cases filed with Siddhirganj Police Station.
A bench comprising Justices K M Zahid Sarwar and Sheikh Abu Taher passed the order on Thursday (April 30).
Ivy was arrested in the early hours of May 9, 2025, from her residence ‘Chunka Kutir’ in Narayanganj’s Deobhog area. She was subsequently shown arrested in multiple cases. Although the High Court had earlier granted her bail in five cases, those orders were later stayed by the Appellate Division.
On November 18, 2025, she was again shown arrested in five additional cases. The High Court granted bail in those cases on February 26, but the orders were again suspended following appeals by the state.
Meanwhile, police sought to show Ivy arrested in two murder cases filed with Siddhirganj Police Station on September 11, 2024, and June 30, 2025. The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Narayanganj approved the applications to show her arrested in the cases on March 2 and April 12 respectively.
Against this backdrop, the High Court on Thursday granted her fresh bail in the two cases.
