High level task force formed to control commodity prices

The government has constituted a special task force at the district level to monitor and review the market situation and supply chain of essential commodities.

This information was revealed in a notification signed by Senior Assistant Secretary to the Commerce Ministry Md Mehdi Hasan on Monday (October 7).

The duty of convenor of the task force has been given to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of each district while Assistant Director of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate will serve as member secretary.

The members will be Additional Superintendent of Police, District Food Controller or appropriate representative, District Livestock Officer or appropriate representative, District Fisheries Officer or appropriate representative, Agricultural Marketing Officer or Senior Agricultural Marketing Officer, CAB representative and two student representatives.
