Efforts are underway to resume higher secondary (HSC) level education at Eden Women's College. The college authorities have initiated communication with the Ministry of Education in this regard.

College Principal Professor Hossne Ara Parveen informed on Monday evening, March 30, that the higher secondary level of the college was never permanently closed; it was suspended a few years ago. An application has already been submitted to the ministry to resume it.

She said following this application, a letter was received from the Ministry of Education on Sunday. It inquired when and why the higher secondary level education was suspended and whether additional government funding would be required for its resumption.

According to the principal, no additional cost is expected for resuming classes at this level. She said information about when these activities were suspended will be collected from the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

After collecting the necessary information, a proposal will be sent to the Ministry of Education through the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education in accordance with the ministry's directives.

It is noteworthy that the college authorities applied on March 3 for permission to resume higher secondary level education. Following this, the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education sent a letter to the college principal on March 25.
