High-level meeting reviews plan to modernise Parliament's sound system

A high-level meeting was held to review plans for replacing the Jatiya Sangsad's existing sound system with a modern, technology-driven audio system aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of parliamentary proceedings.

The meeting took place on Monday (July 27) at the Cabinet Room of the Parliament complex, where Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman was present.

Acting Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal chaired the session, according to Deputy Press Secretary Sujauddoula Sujon Mahmud.

Opposition Leader Dr Shafiqur Rahman, Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman, Government Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam, and senior officials from relevant ministries and agencies also attended.

During the meeting, the Public Works Department delivered a detailed presentation outlining proposed technological options, technical capabilities and implementation strategies for the new sound system.

Discussions also focused on ensuring the proposed system meets the operational requirements of parliamentary sessions while incorporating modern audio technology.

Participants shared their views on the proposal and provided recommendations for the project's implementation.
