Home Minister, IGP pay tribute to police martyrs of Liberation War

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir paid deep tributes to the police members martyred during the Liberation War on the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day.

The Home Minister laid a wreath at the Police Memorial in Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital at 7:30 am on Thursday, March 26.

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Monjur Morshed Chowdhury, IGP Ali Hossain Fakir and other senior police officials were present on the occasion. A smartly dressed police contingent presented a state salute, and a sombre tune was played on bugles.

Later, the IGP laid a wreath at the Police Memorial and paid his respects to the heroic police members. He stood in silence for a while.

Subsequently, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Acting Commissioner Md Sarwar, leaders of the Bangladesh Police Service Association and the Bangladesh Police Women Network (BPWN) separately laid wreaths at the Police Memorial to honour the fallen police members.
