HSC, equivalent results expected between November 7, 15

The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations are expected to be published between November 7 and 15, with preparations already under way, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee said Wednesday (September 23).

Professor Syed Aktaruzzaman, chairman of the committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, said the results could be released within the proposed window as work on compiling and processing the results is progressing.

He said written examinations under the Chattogram Education Board were delayed because of natural disasters, with the board’s final written tests completed on September 9. Additional examiners were appointed to speed up the evaluation process and keep the results on schedule.

The HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2 and were scheduled to end on August 8, while practical examinations were to be completed by August 15.

A total of 1,270,583 students from 9,439 institutions sat for this year’s examinations under 11 education boards at 2,697 centres.

Of them, 1,069,714 students were under nine general education boards, while 92,905 appeared under the Madrasa Education Board and 107,964 under the Technical Education Board.

The Dhaka Education Board had the highest number of candidates, with 300,393 students appearing at 310 centres. Rajshahi had 140,830 candidates, Jessore 117,210, Dinajpur 113,479, Chattogram 99,688 and Cumilla 94,802.

Mymensingh had 73,037 candidates, Sylhet 71,711 and Barishal 58,664.
