Protesting HSC and equivalent examination candidates are set to hold a long march toward the Secretariat on Wednesday (July 15), demanding the suspension of ongoing examinations, a retest for students who missed the July 13 exams, and the resignation of Education and Primary and Mass Education Adviser Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milan within 24 hours.

The move follows an earlier announcement by the protesting students. As no decision to suspend the July 15 examinations was announced by Tuesday night (July 14), organisers said the programme would proceed as scheduled.

According to the protesters, the march will begin at 1:30pm from BNS Center in Uttara after the day's examinations and head toward the Ministry of Education.

Meanwhile, HSC and equivalent examinations are being held in 59 districts across the country. Students are sitting for three subjects under the general, madrasa and technical education boards. However, examinations remain suspended under the Chattogram Education Board and in five flood-affected districts due to the worsening flood situation.

On Tuesday, students staged demonstrations at Science Laboratory, Nilkhet, the Dhaka Education Board and Manik Mia Avenue, blocking key roads for several hours before ending their protest at around 9:40pm.

During a late-night briefing, HSC candidate Miraj of Dhaka City College alleged that the government had failed to address any of their key demands, prompting Wednesday's long march.

Earlier in the evening, clashes broke out after police attempted to disperse protesters near the National Parliament. Demonstrators also claimed their representatives were unable to hold talks with any responsible officials after entering the parliament premises.
