HSC results may be published in mid-November

Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has started the necessary preparations with the aim of publishing the results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations possibly in mid-November next.

President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of Dhaka Education Board Professor Syed Aktaruzzaman informed this information on Friday. He said there is a plan to publish the results within mid-November next. For this the education boards have started the necessary preparations.

This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations started on July 2 and ended on August 8. After that the practical examinations were supposed to be completed by August 15. However, due to natural disasters several written examinations of Chattogram Education Board could not be held at the scheduled time. Later the written examinations of that board ended on September 9 as the postponed examinations were held.

This time 12,70,583 students from 9,439 educational institutions under the 11 education boards of the country took part in the HSC and equivalent examinations. There were 2,697 examination centres across the country for them.

Among the general education boards the highest number of examinees took part under Dhaka Education Board. There were 3,00,393 examinees under this board. They took the examination at 310 centres. 1,40,830 students took part in the examination under Rajshahi Education Board, 1,17,210 under Jashore, 1,13,479 under Dinajpur, 99,688 under Chattogram and 94,802 under Cumilla.

In addition there were 73,037 examinees under Mymensingh Education Board, 71,711 under Sylhet and 58,664 under Barishal.

92,905 examinees under the Madrasah Education Board took the examination at 461 centres and 1,07,964 examinees under the Technical Education Board took the examination at 610 centres.
