The education boards plan to publish the results of the HSC and equivalent examinations in mid-November, said Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board chairman, on Friday, August 21.

He said examinations under eight general education boards have already ended. However, due to the postponement of exams caused by floods, the Chattogram Education Board's exams will conclude on September 9.

Work is underway with the aim of publishing the results by mid-November, he added.

According to board sources, this year's HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2. A total of 12,70,583 students had registered for the exams. The examinations were held this year with common question papers across all education boards.

The theoretical exams under the eight general education boards ended on August 8. However, due to floods, exams under the Chattogram Education Board in Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Bandarban, Rangamati and Cox's Bazar districts were postponed from July 8 to July 26. As the postponed exams were held later, the board's exams will end on September 9.

Meanwhile, a special examination will be held on August 24 for examinees under the Dhaka Education Board who could not sit for their exams on July 13 due to adverse weather. The exam will be held at 10am at Begum Badrunnesa Government Women's College in the capital.
