Amid continuing security risks in the Middle East, 18 international flights were canceled on Monday (March 30), causing further disruption for passengers at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).

Since the crisis began on February 28, countries including Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan temporarily closed their airspace, directly affecting operations at Dhaka airport.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), a total of 858 flights have been canceled from February 28 to March 30.

Monday’s canceled flights included two to Kuwait, four Air Arabia (Sharjah) flights, two Gulf Air (Bahrain) flights, four Qatar Airways flights, two Emirates flights, and four Jazeera Airways flights.

Officials warned that passenger disruptions may continue daily until the situation stabilises, with uncertainty expected to persist in the near term.
