Humayun Kabir signs condolence book at Nepal Embassy

Foreign State Minister Humayun Kabir has signed the condolence book at the Nepal Embassy in Dhaka expressing deep sorrow and sympathy over the massive loss of lives and damage caused by the devastating floods and landslides in Nepal on Tuesday (September 1).

Sincere condolences have been expressed to the government of Nepal and the people of the country on behalf of the government of Bangladesh in the message of condolence. At the same time, sympathy has been expressed for the relatives of those killed and the affected people in this disaster.

In the message of condolence, Humayun Kabir said Bangladesh has deep sympathy and prayers for the people affected by this devastating disaster. Bangladesh is expressing solidarity with the friendly people of Nepal at this time of crisis.

He informed that Bangladesh is ready to provide any kind of assistance to Nepal as needed. At the same time, he also expressed the hope that the people of Nepal will be able to stand up firmly after overcoming the disaster.

Sudden devastating floods and landslides caused massive loss of lives in northern Nepal on August 26. Extensive damage has been done to houses, roads, bridges and other infrastructure in various areas of the country. Rescue and relief operations are still continuing.

Meanwhile, according to the latest international reports, the death toll in this disaster in Nepal has crossed one thousand and several thousand people are still missing. Rescuers are facing adverse situations while conducting rescue operations in remote areas.
