BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, speaking as a native of Dhaka-17, appealed for votes for the party’s ‘Dhaner Shish’ symbol during an election campaign rally at the ESKI Ground on Sunday (February 8).

Addressing supporters, he said, “I am a child of this area. I grew up here, our children were born here, and our marriages took place here. As a local, I appeal to mothers, sisters, and brothers to vote for Dhaner Shish.”

He greeted party activists on stage shortly after 3:30pm and began his speech at 3:37pm, noting that he would keep his remarks brief to avoid obstructing public movement during the street rally.

Promising to make Dhaka a safer city, Tarique Rahman said, “Mothers and sisters should be able to move safely at any time, and business activities must be conducted securely.”

He also pledged that if BNP forms the government, 40 new playgrounds would be built across Dhaka, and the road from ESKI Ground to Jasim Uddin would be widened.

Concluding his address, he once again appealed to voters to cast their ballots for the Dhaner Shish symbol on February 12.
