I did not resign: Ahsan H Mansur

Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur has said that he did not resign. He confirmed this information to a private media outlet.

When asked whether he had resigned, Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur said around 2:30 pm, 'I did not resign, I was not removed. I saw it in the media, so I am going home.'

Earlier, Governor Dr. Ahsan H Mansur left the central bank office without making any official statement after information spread that he was being removed. Although he arrived at the office as part of a regular programme in the morning, news of his removal suddenly spread through various media outlets. At the same time, news was also heard that a new governor was being appointed.

Then he left the office without speaking publicly to any colleagues or senior officials. His sudden departure created a sensation within the bank.
