I want to speak less and work more: Finance and Planning Minister
Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has pledges to emphasis prioritise work over rhetoric talks, saying, “I want to speak less and work more.”
Speaking to reporters at the Planning Commission in Agargaon on Sunday (February 22), he said, “I have just arrived—let’s start with the work, and I will brief the media later. I am press-friendly, so everything will be communicated in due course.”
When presented with flowers by officials from various departments, he declined, saying, “Please, no flowers. It’s time to work.”
Asked about how much time he would dedicate to the ministry, the minister said it would depend on workload. He added that he will first consult with officials and familiarise himself with the situation before taking necessary measures.
On questions regarding LDC graduation and wasteful projects, he said details would be shared later.
Following the briefing, he attended a meeting at the NEC conference hall with the Planning Commission secretary, directors of the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS), the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, and other relevant officials.
