If cheating materials are found, center head will also be held liable: Education Minister

If cheating materials are found at a center—even in the bathrooms—the center secretary and the on-duty teachers will be held liable and brought under the law, said Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon.

He gave this warning as the chief guest at a view-sharing meeting organized with the center secretaries of Dhaka Education Board, Mymensingh Education Board, Madrasa Education Board and Technical Education Board on the occasion of the upcoming HSC and equivalent exams at Azimpur Girls School and College in the capital on Wednesday (June 24).

The Education Minister said that the form of cheating has changed now. That is why the old 'Examination Act' has been changed. If a student is found cheating in the upcoming HSC exam, he will be detained or brought under the law. At the same time, if cheating materials are found in any examination center, the head of that institution or center head will also be brought under the law.

The minister further said that the previous examination law has been amended in the parliament to make it compatible with the current times. No concession will be made regarding cheating and question leak. That is why the examination law has been changed now.

Among others, Dhaka 7 constituency MP Hamidur Rahman, Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Professor Akhtaruzzaman, Secretary Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haider were present at the time.
