Imams, muazzins to receive honorariums before Eid: Mahdi Amin

As part of implementing election pledges, the government will provide honorariums to imams and muazzins. The government has announced that this initiative will begin in several areas before Eid.

Mahdi Amin, adviser to the Prime Minister, shared this information at the gate of the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon on Saturday afternoon.

With State Minister for Local Government and Cooperatives Shah Alam by his side, Mahdi informed that one of BNP's key pledges before the election was to provide honorariums to various religious figures including mosque imams, muazzins and khatibs. In continuation of that, the BNP government will initially launch this programme before Eid-ul-Fitr. It will gradually be implemented nationwide.

Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's Press Secretary Saleh Shibli said today was Tarique Rahman's third working day. The Prime Minister has given several directives to implement election pledges.
