Industries to get required gas, power from Tuesday: PM

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has assured the supply of electricity and gas to industrial factories as per demand from Tuesday, September 15. He gave the assurance while delivering the presidential address at a meeting with leaders of 20 business organisations at the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat on Monday, September 14.

The Prime Minister highlighted the government's plans regarding the ongoing electricity, fuel and gas crisis at the meeting. Senior media personalities were also present.

Business leaders briefed journalists after the meeting.

FBCCI Administrator Fazlul Haque said business organisations want to place their trust in the government. At the same time, they want proper management of the plans taken by the government.

He said the Prime Minister has said that from Tuesday night, the newly created crisis will not exist. "We will be able to return to the situation we were in before regarding gas and electricity," he said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister's Adviser Mahdi Amin said at the briefing that work has begun on launching another FSRU before 2028. Along with this and the previous two, the government plans to operate a total of five floating LNG terminals. In addition, the government is also planning an onshore LNG terminal.
