Inqilab Mancha gives 24-hour ultimatum to arrest Hadi assailants, warns of protest

Inqilab Mancha has issued a 24-hour ultimatum demanding the arrest of those responsible for the shooting of its leader Osman Hadi, warning of street protests if the demand is not met.

The ultimatum was announced on Friday (December 12) during a briefing outside Evercare Hospital, where Hadi is receiving treatment. Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber said a protest rally would be held at Shahbagh at 12 noon Saturday.

“If anything happens to Osman Hadi, the interim government must take responsibility,” Jaber said, urging authorities to ensure the best possible treatment, including sending him abroad if necessary.

Rejecting requests for CCTV footage from intelligence agencies, Jaber said identifying and arresting the shooters was the state’s responsibility. He warned that failure to arrest the attackers by 10am on Saturday would expose the government’s “hollow assurances.”

Calling the attack a failure of the state, he said, “Those who cannot protect Osman Hadi cannot protect the country.”
