Invest Bangladesh Chairman Ashik Chowdhury gets state ministerial status
Invest Bangladesh Authority Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, widely known as Ashik Chowdhury, has been granted the status and privileges of a state minister by the government.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification on Tuesday (August 25), saying the decision takes immediate effect.
Under the order, Ashik Chowdhury will receive the salary, allowances and other benefits applicable to a state minister for as long as he serves as chairman of the authority.
The government said the decision was taken to support the chairman in carrying out his responsibilities and strengthen Invest Bangladesh’s role in promoting and facilitating investment.
Operating under the Prime Minister's Office, Invest Bangladesh Authority is responsible for attracting domestic and foreign investment and coordinating investment-related services and initiatives.
