Jaima Rahman visits Batighar, picks books by Kazi Nazrul, Humayun Ahmed, Garcia Marquez
Jaima Rahman, daughter of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, visited the chain bookshop Batighar in Banglamotor on Saturday, April 25, to buy books. She arrived at the bookstore around 12:00 pm and spent nearly half an hour browsing before selecting her preferred books.
Dipankar Dash, owner of Batighar, said Jaima Rahman came to buy books just like any other regular reader. Some people also took photos with her.
Among her purchases were books by both domestic and international authors. From Bangladesh, she bought books by Kazi Nazrul Islam, Humayun Ahmed, Anisul Haque, Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain, and Nurul Kabir. From West Bengal, she picked books by Sunil Gangopadhyay and Samaresh Majumdar. From international literature, she chose a book by Colombian Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez.
