BNP leader Rashed Khan has commented that Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman did not leave his Dhaka-10 seat due to corruption of Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan.

He made this comment in a post on his verified Facebook on Sunday (May 31).

In the Facebook post, Rashed Khan wrote, 'Journalist brothers will get an answer on this issue if they ask the Jamaat Ameer. If he is honest, he will either avoid the issue or not answer. Everyone in the NCP's policy-making circle knows this. Nahid Islam may deny this issue for political reasons. But this is 100% true, there is no adulteration here.’

Rashed Khan, stating that he had received information about corruption against Asif Mahmud and his APS Moazzem based on a source, wrote, ‘I also discussed this matter with another advisor. He was also surprised to hear the matter. The information about the DC scandal is not untrue either. Hasnat and Sarjis were involved in it. I got this information from their trusted people along with some clues.’

He further wrote, ‘Nasir Patwary often used to say that politics cannot exist without grabbing the assets of the Awami League and money. In political discussions at Nahid Islam’s Mantri Para residence, the talk of money would always come from Nasir Patwari’s mouth.’

Rashed, stating that he was appointed on the advice of Administrator Mohammad Ejaz Nasiruddin Patwari, said, ‘He was in the Jatiya Nagorik Party committee with Nasir Uddin Patwari. The money earned through Muhammad Ejaz goes to Nasir Patwari and the NCP. It is now an open secret that a dozen top leaders of the NCP are involved in massive corruption. Surely they have not forgotten the video of a woman giving 7 lakh taka to Sarjis. The woman alleges that she took a total of 48 lakh taka on the promise of getting work like this.
