Jamaat Ameer to visit Central Shaheed Minar for first time

Shafiqur Rahman is visiting the Central Shaheed Minar for the first time on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. He is currently the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

A press release sent by the party's publicity department on Friday afternoon said that as part of the state rituals, he will visit the Central Shaheed Minar on the morning of February 21 to pay homage. At that time, members of parliament from the 11-party unity alliance will also accompany him.

Although student organizations organize processions and discussion meetings on this day every year, this is his first appearance at the Central Shaheed Minar as Jamaat Ameer.

The release also said that in addition to paying homage at the Shaheed Minar, Shafiqur Rahman will visit the graves of language martyrs and pray for the forgiveness of their souls.
