Jamaat ameer's election expenses exceed Tk32 lakh

Jamaat Ameer and Opposition Leader in the National Parliament Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, who won the Dhaka-15 constituency in the 13th National Elections, spent a total of Tk32.58 lakh for the poll purpose.

According to his election expenses submitted to the Election Commission, he spent Tk15.55 lakh on the election campaign while Tk88,000 was spent on the transportation purpose, Tk5.45 lakh on organizing public meetings and Tk4.17 lakh on running election camps.

In addition, Tk2.93 lakh was spent on agents and other staff, Tk2.87 lakh on the accommodation and administrative sectors and Tk71,000 was spent on campaigning on social media.

The total number of voters in Dhaka-15 constituency was 351,718. According to the law, there is a limit of spending up to Tk10 for each voter. Accordingly, the fixed expenditure limit was Tk35.17 lakh.
