Jamaat-e-Islami leaders have gone to the US embassy in Dhaka and presented the Islami Andolon Bangladesh as militants and extremists, alleged Ameer of the party Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim (Charmonair Pir).

He made these remarks in response to questions from journalists at the 'Manifesto of People's Expectations' announcement ceremony at the party office in Purana Paltan in the capital on Wednesday (February 4) afternoon. Senior leaders of the party were present at the time.

Charmonair Pir said that no political leader in the history of Bangladesh has presented the country as a militant or extremist state. But unfortunately, he alleged that Jamaat's Naib-e-Ameer Abdullah Muhammad Taher went to the US embassy and presented the his party as militants.

Criticizing Jamaat, he said that they had secret meetings with the US and India. He questioned why the meetings were secret even though they were normal. He also commented that the fact that India mentioned these meetings as part of a series indicates that such meetings had taken place earlier.

Regarding the withdrawal of the Islami Andolon Bangladesh from the electoral pact with 11 parties including Jamaat, Rezaul Karim said that the Jamaat-led alliance lacks Islamic ideals and unity, which is tantamount to cheating the nation. This is why relations with them have been severed.

He said that if there is no harmony among themselves, staying with that alliance will lead to the nation being deceived and the country will become more ugly instead of beautiful. Therefore, his party has withdrawn from that alliance.
