Japanese investment firm delegation meets PM
A delegation from Mitsui & Co., one of Japan’s largest trading and investment firms, met Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman on Wednesday morning (June 3).
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat, according to Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Rony.
Mitsui & Co. is one of Japan’s leading trading and investment companies, with global operations spanning logistics, infrastructure, metals, energy and food trading.
Among those present at the meeting from the government side were Finance and Planning Adviser Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, the Prime Minister’s Economic and Planning Adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shakirul Islam Khan, and Finance Secretary Md Khairuzzaman Majumdar.
The Mitsui delegation included Makato Sato, Chief Executive Officer for the Asia-Pacific region and Executive Vice President; Takanobu Murayama, Chief Strategy Officer of the Asia-Pacific Business Unit; Kenichiro Kawamoto, Country Chairperson of Mitsui Bangladesh; and Md Moniruzzaman, Deputy General Manager of the company's Dhaka branch.
