Joining process for 14,384 primary teachers to begin by October

The process of joining for 14,384 recommended assistant teachers for government primary schools will begin by October, said the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

Ministry Secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain disclosed the information after an emergency virtual meeting on teacher recruitment on Saturday (August 1) evening.

He said the government is giving the highest importance to the joining of the recommended assistant teachers. Although there has been some delay due to investigations and various procedural complexities, the joining process is expected to begin by October 30.

Meanwhile, the 14,000 recommended teachers had announced a continuous sit-in programme from 11am on Sunday (August 2) in front of the National Museum at Shahbag in the capital to demand joining and posting. However, no decision has yet been announced on whether the programme will be called off following the ministry's announcement.
