Journalist Anis Alamgir shown arrested under anti-terrorism act

Journalist Anis Alamgir has been shown arrested in a case filed under anti-terrorism act, police confirmed on Monday (December 15).

Alamgir would be produced in court this afternoon, confirmed Shafiqul Islam, head of the Detective Branch (DB).

The case filed at Uttara West Police Station in Dhaka by July Revolutionary Alliance central organiser Arian Ahmed, alleges involvement in activities aimed at destabilising the state.

The other accused are actress Meher Afroz Shaon, Maria Kispotta and Imtu Ratish Imtiaz.

Alamgir was taken to the DB office on Sunday night for questioning before being shown arrest in the ongoing investigation.
