The Jatiya Party (JP) is in the face of another division as the supporters of Rowshan Ershad are taking part in a conference at Ramna in the capital on Saturday (March 9), to form a new party dividing the JP.

The conference is being held on the open ground in front of Ramana Institute.

The expelled leaders from JP are being united under the leadership of Hussain Muhammad Ershad's wife Rowshan Ershad through this conference.

Apart from Rowshan Ershad, Kazi Feroz Rashid, Syed Abu Hossain Babla and Shafiqul Islam Sentu, who were expelled from the JP, are also attending the conference.

So far, the JP has been divided into five parties with the same name.

The JP was founded on January 1, 1986. Since then, due to conflict among its leaders, the party has since split into at least six factions including the latest split taking place today.

However, the Ershad-Rowshan and GM Quader’s faction was considered the main faction of JP. Since the death of the former president and army ruler Ershad, the conflict between Rowshan and GM Quader over central leadership has been increasing. The end result of which is today's conference.
